Malcolm Brogdon has been a dream pickup for the Boston Celtics

Entering his late 20s, veteran guard Malcolm Brogdon was a leading scorer on an Indiana Pacer team with a window slammed shut the last three seasons in pursuit of a fresh start.

The Vice President of the NBA’s Players Association had a winning desire to help lift a contender this summer. The Pacers’ plans helped earn him a list of teams as they wondered who he may be attracted to. The easy choice: The Boston Celtics.

“It’s great man. It’s a dream. To be able to play for this organization, put that jersey on. Sort of do it in the midst of the passing of Bill Russell and honor him the way we have. It’s a blessing.” – Brogdon following the Celtics’ 126-117 opening night victory over the 76ers at TD Garden.

The 2017 Rookie of the Year immediately voiced his main attraction and importance in coming over to Boston which was the guard’s desire to win. Primarily a starter his whole career, a preparedness to sacrifice for the East champs had already originated with ease from the former Pacer. The goal was to help the Celtics get over that deep-rooted championship hump and get that 18th banner.

Brogdon has brought a whole new philosophy to the Celtics’ offense that has been unlocked. Providing a key that was missing during Boston’s Finals appearance.
